Photo of the day

There are some places that subtly scream to be photographed. Sometimes it feels as if the beauty of a place can only be magnified and appropriately preserved through a lens. Almost as if you miss out on something if isn't viewed in different ways, as if the magnitude is too much to understood through a one dimensional view, and can only be properly absorbed if provided with different outlets in which to express its appeal.

Enchanted Rock is an enormous pink granite rock in south Texas, it's beautiful. Thousands (probably more) of people have tracked over it, photographed it, absorbed it.  But for some reason I feel as if I have walked away with something thats just mine.  Sometimes photographs feel like secrets, and in a way they are.  They are so much more than surface value, although thats enough.

Sometimes being in the moment means you lose out on everything else that is going on around you.  I'm lucky to have moments on repeat and within reach through my images.
